About Ten Thousand Villages Boise

The Thousand Villages in Idaho is a not-for-profit Fair Trade store. We operate in order to provide vital, fair income to people from developing countries by marketing their handicrafts and telling their stories in North America. The income realised by selling the crafts helps pay for food, education, healthcare and housing. We are a Store with a Story and the stories we tell are meant to help those who hear us understand how their purchases and consumption habits impacts those living in developing countries. The store in Boise is run and managed by a Board of Directors. It has been in operation since November 1995.
