A National Park is an area of supreme natural beauty that is protected from environmental hurt and further development by law. The narrow passage towards the end of the walk is known as the ‘Iron Gates’ and everywhere along the walk you will see remains of the people who used to live and work here. There are abandoned lime kilns, sheep pens and furnaces.
